WOW! Things are changing daily now! This
is the new "D Dock" ( "A Dock"
is the southern most dock) and it's almost completely in place. The pile driver
is just beginning to work on this piling. The top is just about even with
the top
of the building in the background

This is the same piling almost all the way
in. A puff of smoke can be seen about
half way up the left side of the pile driver as it had just made a stroke.

These are C & D Piers in place.

B Pier on the right and C on the left.

The Pile driver placed all of the piles on D Pier except the very outboard one.
Apparently they fought the wind all day. The contractor is trying to maintain
less
than 1/2 inch positional accuracy in setting the pilings. That's pretty
good!

Apparently the wind was pushing the barge
against the new pier. This fellow is
trying to push the barge away. I don't
think he was very effective.

Much of the backfilling has been completed. If you see
this now, you will
notice this has been done only out to the old bulkhead. The space between
the old bulkhead and the new one will be filled once the electrical
and
plumbing work has been completed.
Next week should be real
exciting. Phil tells me all of the different
contractors will be busy doing their thing. Another dock will be arriving
as well as the finger
piers. The electrical folks will be starting their phase
of work as well as the
plumbers.
Sit tight folks, This will be a fun ride!
