HYC
The project officially began with the
relocation of the boats on the old docks. This is no small task, given the
number of boats affected. A temporary home was found for all of those who needed
it. Thanks to all involved !

This is actually the second day the equipment was on the
site. It's hard to see in this shot,
but the T-Pier has already been removed.
This was taken from about halfway down the
floating docks. Much of the
main dock is already gone.

This was taken on about the fifth day of work. The removal of the pilings
provided a lot of entertainment
to those watching from the bar. The crane
operator was very accurate at "lassoing" a piling
with the loop above.
Once around the piling, it was pulled tight and the pulling began.

The loop is being positioned around a piling.

The amount of pulling to extricate the piling varied and
sometimes required
several minutes to break it free.

As you can see here, the outer end of the main pier is
completely gone. The north
section is now quickly disappearing.

The barge is quickly filling up with the pilings and
docks.

The North Docks (old Bluewater) still have a lot of boats.
They had about two
extra weeks before they had to be gone.
