The Hampton Yacht Club and The Storm Trysail Club
will again co-host the Down the Bay Race for the Virginia Cruising Cup with a
start on Friday, May 28, 2010.
This is the Friday prior to Memorial Day Weekend and it will serve as a
feeder race for the Southern Bay Race Week 2010 and a warm-up race for the
Bermuda Ocean Race.
The start will be near
the Severn River in the Annapolis, MD area of the Chesapeake Bay and
will finish off Old Point Comfort, VA
A mandatory
check-in/registration will be at Annapolis Yacht Club Skipjack level
on Thursday May 27 from 3 - 6 PM with a social event to follow.
The
first warning will be Friday at 1030 AM with the slowest boats starting
first, and a social event with awards at Hampton Yacht Club Saturday
night.
PHRF, IRC, and One Design Classes with 5 boats or more will be racing.
All must be 4P safety compliant. Rafts are not required.
