One Week, half-day class. This is an exploratory class for those that love the water and looking to learn how to safely operate a small outboard powerboat. The concept of Adventure is to introduce a love for boating and life on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Topics to be covered may include State and Federal safe boating requirements, safe powerboat handling, basic outboard operation and troubleshooting, some fishing and the ecosystem of the Bay, tides, currents, weather, marine science, and building a love for the sea. Students may choose to test for their NASBLA Safe Boating Certificate at the end of the class to obtain their powerboating license in the State of Virginia.
